Welcome to The Meadows CL

Our Web Site is now "Mobile Friendly"

The Meadows is a tranquil site, set in a pretty valley on a small working farm and surrounded by farmland, adjacent to two lakes, bird and wildlife abound; some evenings Deer can even be seen grazing across the valley.
The site is flat and there are electric hook ups, parking areas, space for awnings etc. We have both hard standing & grass pitches all with electric hook ups.

Due to an Otter and a Cormorant last summer, we have lost all our large fish. We have restocked, but it will take time to reach any decent size. We have many small fish,
So you are welcome to fish with barbless hooks and return.

If you enjoy the peace and quiet and beautiful surroundings then we have the ‘best of Devon’ on the doorstep, and are sure that you will love The Meadows Cl site.

We have just returned from our stay at this site it is quite peaceful and set In a lovely rural location. Helen & John are lovely hosts there if you need them but otherwise they just leave you to enjoy this tranquil location. We would definitely return to this site when we visit that way again. Thank you Helen and John and not forgetting Harvey.

We stayed for 2 weekends running in April as we were down to
explore the area. Great little set up with such friendly and supportive
hosts Helen and Jon. So peaceful and relaxing, highly recommended and we
will certainly be back again soon.

We stayed at this hidden gem in September for 10 days.
Helen is the perfect host and "went the extra mile" when we had a water leak and needed mop and some towels.
Spacious CL pitches with a lovely lake and surroundings to stay in.
Typical for local roads they are narrow - Helen will advise best to time to arrive and depart.

A hidden gem CL

Our 10 day holiday staying at the Meadows CL was excellent :) The owner Helen met us at the entrance and walked down to the CL field to show us the pitched. All 5 hardstanding with room for the car beside and an awning on the grass. Great views from these spacious electric pitches. Water and Elsan within easy reach. There are a number of dustbins (emptied and new bags in daily) to allow for recycling. The welcome pack explains the split. The toilets and showers were currently closed for C19 safety (we were aware of this before booking). We had a water leak - Helen to the rescue with mop, bucket and towels. Thanks Helen :) Pub in walking distance. 10 minutes drive to Babbacombe. Best route (the typical area local roads are narrow) is provided on the website ( or contact Helen.

Other site owners could learn alit from this site. 5 star pluss.

dont be put off by the industrial site type entrance , you pass through this and turn into the most beautiful CL site. Immaculately kept Small pond in the site and a much bigger one above , which we were told our dogs could swim in. Dogs don’t have to be teathered , just under control. The owners have a black lab who pops by for a chat . Everything is right about this site, the grass is cut, the waste bins are all built into cupboards, no traffic, no aircraft, just birds singing. There is a shower and loo for your use kept locked and a key given to you on arrival. They are modern and spotless. The owners are just lovely people . And work hard to provide a wonderful environment. Only thing you could improve in is to fence off the view of the caravan storage area but when the shrubs grow up you won’t see it. I highly recommend this site . It’s the best kept one we’ve been on in 20 years .

Paul and Brian and puggies

Stayed at this wonderful site for 4 days in June. Truly immaculate site. Showers and toilets best we have experienced, spotless. Set in a beautiful location overlooking a lovely lake with great wildlife and country views. The owners Helen and John were exceptionally good hosts so friendly and down to earth. The star of our holiday was the gorgeous black lab Harvey who spent some time with us playing ball. But if you like dogs like we do please don't feed him as labs will eat anything! The site is in a very peaceful location close to a lovely pub with great food called The Linny. Not the best place to cycle as very hilly, but lovely walks. We cant recommend this site highly enough, the best we have stayed at. We will be back very soon. Many thanks once again Helen and John for a great stay. Kind regards, Edward and Eileen De-Fry.

Comments: Well what a place. We had to find a site for 2 weeks whilst we were waiting to complete on a house purchase so we were not at our most relaxed ..... until we set up our motorhome and awning on this relaxing 5 pitch site .... and for us, most importantly child free. Both John and Helen were very welcoming and very friendly. We were given literature on the site along with placed to eat and drink along with the local shops which made life easy when it came to filling up the fridge. Also leaflets were given to us with the local attractions so we were all set to have a relaxing fortnight. We saw plenty of Helen who often popped down to be sure everything was going well, Harvey the delightful black Labrador owned by John and Helen often visited too but was never a bother and always enjoyed a bit of fuss. We had a border collie with us who was also made very welcome and provided she was under control at all times she was allowed to walk the perimeter of the site, around to 2 ponds and therefore had a good enough walk several times a day  and a dog waste bin was sited where it couldn't be missed so no excuses not to clear up after your dog which every dog owner did at the site. Several waste bins were provided and I was able to separate the various bottle, tins and cardboard as I would have at home. This site is in a valley and it was a joy to look at the cattle in the fields in the distance and listen to the bird all around in the hedge row. This is just the site we were looking for to give us some 'down time' before we move in to a house with lots of work to do. Thank you Helen and John (and Harvey) for this fortnight of tranqulity. It is to be highly recommended and may many other people enjoy their stay as much as we have.

Up among the top CL locations we have visited. Once we turned into the campsite we followed the clearly marked sign for 'Caravans' and spotted our name and pitch number clearly marked, next to the water tap. The hills on most sides of the 'valley' campsite made it sheltered and warm, the grass was cut short and no levelers were needed. We did a scenic, circular country side walk up to the village of Kingskerswell's Co Op shop to get our daily papers, ideal for dog walkers. The pond setting was very calming, there were Geese on the pond and lots of other bits of nature to see or hear, look out for deer and a heron. The Campsite is in an ideal spot to visit Torquay, Paignton, Brixham, Shaldon, Teignmouth and Dawlish, which we did. Helen and John were top hosts.

What a wonderful site. Beautiful and peaceful. Quiet and relaxing. Need own on board facilities but the electric hook-ups and hardstandings make this a site to visit any time of the year. We enjoyed excellent food at The Linny.
Thank you John and Helen for creating a really good CL. We'll be back.
