About The Meadows
The Meadows was a small Caravan Club certificated location (CL) near Coffinswell in Devon. It was a tranquil site in a pretty valley surrounded by farmland, beside two lakes, where birds and wildlife abounded and on some evenings deer could be seen grazing across the valley.
The site was flat, with parking areas and space for awnings. It had five hard standing pitches on the CL and six grass pitches in a separate area, all with electric hook-ups, as well as a toilet and shower block. It was for adults only, dogs were welcome, and its 2024 season ran from 20 April to 30 September.
Coarse fishing on the lakes next to the site was available by arrangement with the owners. After an otter and a cormorant took the large fish one summer the lakes were restocked, and visitors were welcome to fish for the many small fish with barbless hooks, returning what they caught.
It suited anyone who enjoyed peace and quiet and beautiful surroundings. The local pub, The Linny in Coffinswell village, known for good food, was only a 10 minute walk away.
Visitors' comments on the old website often mentioned how well kept the site was, the wildlife around the ponds and the peace and quiet, and some warned that the approach lanes were narrow.
